Who It’s For

What to Look For Before Buying

Selecting the right cover requires attention to your sofa shape. You must prioritize materials with enough stretch for high backs. Ensure the anchoring system keeps the cover secure. Consider if you need liquid protection or just a decor refresh.

Check Measure Your Sofa Accurately

Always measure the length from outer arm to outer arm. Do not rely on stated sizes because manufacturing varies. Check if your cushions are removable. This determines if you need a one-piece or multi-piece cover. Always select the larger size if you are between sizes.

Value Prioritize Fabric Durability

Look for high GSM fabrics for more durability. Polyester and spandex blends offer the best stretch. If you have pets, choose velvet or tightly woven fabrics. These resist claw snags better. Avoid thin materials that pill quickly.

Rating Check for Secure Anchoring

A cover is useless if it slides off. Look for foam rods or elastic straps. Rubberized backings are also helpful. Multi-piece designs are usually more stable. Check reviews to see how well they stay in place.

Verify Match Your Protection Needs

A waterproof layer is essential for kids or pets. Choose textured fabrics like jacquard for a decor update. Ensure the cover is machine washable for easy care. Always follow the care instructions to protect the elastic.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will these covers fit my high-back sofa?

Most high-stretch covers can accommodate high-back models. You should check the specific stretch dimensions first. Multi-piece covers often offer a better fit for taller backs.

How do I stop the cover from sliding?

Use the included foam rods. Tuck them deep into the crevices between cushions and the base. If your cover lacks these, you can buy extra foam sticks. Make sure the elastic bands are properly wrapped around the bottom.

Can I wash these covers in a machine?

Yes, most polyester-spandex covers are machine washable. Use a gentle, cold-water cycle. Avoid bleach or ironing to protect the elastic fibers. Air drying or low heat is best.

Are these covers waterproof?

Not all covers are waterproof. Look for products labeled as waterproof or multi-layer. Standard jacquard or velvet covers will absorb liquids.

How do I choose between one-piece and multi-piece covers?

Choose a one-piece cover for quick, cheap installation. I would suggest a multi-piece cover for a professional look. Multi-piece designs are better for sofas with removable cushions.
